It’s actually quite difficult to write a review about a game which is on the market for more than 18 months and which during that time already underwent some significant changes, including class updates, 2½ new game modes and several new (official or custom-made-official) maps.

Who will win? Hard to say: Razorback and Jarate vs. Dead Ringer and Ambassador
Meanwhile let’s have a closer look at the gifts Santa Valve brought us.

Actually I can’t quite decide if I should make this an editorial or an „I Hate It Here“-rant. Well, I guess I’ll toss a coin after I’m done.
Okay, in a nutshell: Two classes updated and 3 new items released for each of those classes. These new items are no longer unlocked by garnering a certain number of achievements, but based on the newly implemented system of random drops the new items are awarded after a certain amount of time playing.

Note: Edited to reflect the latest news.
Okay, so Valve will be hitting us with two class updates simultaneously: Sniper and Spy. Sneaky devils, those Valve guys.
Release date of the updates is supposed to be Friday, the 21st. I wonder if there will be another update today, there are still a few loose ends.
Never mind, that leaves us with enough time to continue speculating on the effects, pros and cons of the new toys. And Valve gave us much room for speculation, didn’t they? While with (...)

The TF2 Blog has been updated.
Robin Walker talks about some considerations about the sniper-class and gives a few hints about the unlockable for the primary weapon.
Will we get the Jarate after all?
As I said before, I’m not particularly looking forward to the sniper update (I will probably search for a server with class limits during that time), but I find it highly interesting when Valve talks about their ideas and considerations behind the classes and the class balance and how such (...)

Just a quick info:
In an interview with ShackNews Robin Walker comments on the new ItemDrops, the Backpack and a few other things.
There’s a lot of interesting stuff in that Interview, so head over and read it for yourself. And apparently the world doesn’t end after all. Bugger
I will add some thoughts about the interview a little later, so stay tuned.
And thanks to Hzza for pointing me towards the Interview.
Okay, let’s try to assess what’s going on here.
Obviously Valve is starting to (...)

Valve announced it: After some general updates (and the happy anticipation is already slowly turning into restrained terror ) the next class receiving new toys will be the sniper.
Boy, am I excited ...
While I think that the class updates are an interesting concept to keep TF2 alive and interesting over a longer period of time (and obviously a brilliant marketing strategy since, according to Gabe Newell, sales figures did go up after previous class updates) it has become an annoying and (...)

Oh dear, and here I was thinking I could ease into writing editorials about TF2 on a leisurely pace, when a simple steam update suddenly creates much confusion, activity and some actual nervous breakdowns across the community
So what happened?
The latest steam update made added some features. I do what every bloody TF2 website on this planet is doing and copy and paste the main points:
Reworked the character loadout screens to support future features
Added the ability for players (...)

Or perhaps even a „welcome back“ to all those old-timers and relics from the days of old, where Scouts would jump on concussion grenades and you stole a flag rather than a briefcase It’ been quite some time. Some things have changed. Other things have stayed the same.
But for those who are here for the first time allow me to introduce the Fort:
The Fort looks back on a long history, reaching back to the days of Quake Team Fortress (I will tell you about its origin and its history at another (...)
