Noticeably the frequency of articles has decreased during the last couple of weeks. But if you were hoping I was already running out of steam I’ll have to disappoint you
A few weeks back I started posting a series of articles covering the Fort’s motto of „Honor, Sportsmanship and Teamplay“, explaining and elaborating on the terms and their relevance in (and around) the game.
The first two, Teamplay (1 2) and Sportsmanship Teamplay (1 2), took a while to write, but eventually pretty much straight forward.
Still missing is my take on Honor, and that one is really proving to be a piece of work.
It’s not an easy topic in the first place, but trying to put this in context with the internet and online gaming makes it even more difficult. I went through two drafts and found those unsatisfying.
Then a couple of weeks ago I decided to choose a different approach by tackling the term of “Honor” on a more general basis first and then move towards the more specific points later.
This feels more satisfying and I hope this will be more rounded than my previous attempts. However, the downside of this will be the length of the whole thing. Most likely I will have to divide it (again) into two parts so you, my dear readers, won’t be tired out by my musings (okay, I might do so anyhow, but give me some points for easing your pain ).
Truth to be told I’m still struggling with it and I’m not sure when it will be ready. This one is very important to me, so I’m doing it the Valve-way: “When it is done”.
And my apologies to everybody who may think that I’m wasting my time on some highbrow stuff nobody’s interested in anyhow, instead of writing about something more relevant and down-to-earth.
I have a number of other topics in the pipeline (though be warned, there’s another serious one in there as well). But right now I prioritize that one because I want to be done with it.
So please cut me some slack for not providing new content for another few days.
But I might as well take the opportunity to remind you once more that I’m open for anybody who thinks he has something to contribute to the Fort.
Junta was nice enough to write an excellent article (and I might add: A very popular one ), and I’m hoping to have another guest editorial soon by somebody who’s opinion I value.
So don’t be shy, step forward and let yourself be heard ...
